It has been a very busy fortnight since my return from the Nightmare and Nightlund.  I am currently at sea aboard my vessel with Kai'Alhana.  We are, at the moment, sailing for Palanthus with the entirety of the Silvenesti fleet and some sixty thousand elven soldiers.

The years had become something of a blur.  Politics at court blended with fighting against the Nightmare in the woods of Silvenesti.  I have been busy -- always busy -- but I suppose I should talk, at least briefly, on the high points of the last several years.

We arrived at the Tower of High Sorcery at Goodlund two days later, landing near the magical grove. Daniel and I led our companions through the grove, as Wizards of the White Robes, as we sought out an audence with the Master of the Tower, Ke'Lanthinel tr'Galien Devir, the self-proclaimed Master of Light and Dark.

We returned to Kakartha in preparation to attack the concept of Passage. Five teams had been assembled. The elemental plane of earth would be assaulted by a force led by Lil'Athrial and Deandra of the Red Robes, while the plane of fire would be led by Lanthinel and his Tower of Goodlund force. The plane of water fell to Alysa Crownguard and her troops, as well as Raistlin Majere (who tracked down the abducted Thorn) and the dwarven master smith. The plane of air, meanwhile, would be attacked by thirteen warriors loyal to Oskur, as well as other attackers.

As we recovered from our battle in the triune temple dedicated to Sargonnas, Morgion, and Chemosh, we considered what to do about the vampire minotaur and elf, as well as the two liches who had teleported away. Obviously, since the temple was dedicated to Morgion, the two liches devoted to that goddess would not simply abandon their holy charges, and most likely they had retreated to an inner sanctum to recover and plan. As we considered our options, we heard a terrible clamor from the door we had entered through, as sounds of battle -- accompanied by draconic roars -- could be heard.

I imagine that it might be difficult to get a grasp of what is meant when I write of "Chaos," "Law," "The Tobril," and so forth in writing of my experiences and thoughts concerning Galen Dracos, what I know of Daniel, the Cult of Storms, and so forth. After all, there is a difference between "chaotic" or "chaos" and "Chaos". But what is actually meant?

After our encounter with the snow maiden, my companions and I headed towards the besieged frost giants of the Tribe of White. The giants in question were women and children trying to hold off a force of attackers under the thrall of the Witch Queen. Our journey was proceeding rather well with the snow maiden's blessing upon the weather, negating the blizzard as we travelled.

Some time ago, I said that I would try to explain, at least from my perspective, what I meant in regards to Alexis, the Dark Heart, and her "third half." This will likely be confusing, but hopefully context and a delineation of what is known will help in understanding it.

I journeyed to the border of Nightlund, the domain of the death knight Lord Soth. Soth's tale is well known by most in Ansalon, but I figure it bears repeating here.

When I left Silvenesti some 17 years ago originally, I did so in the hopes of finding a new path for my people -- a solution to the problems of decadence and stagnancy that left us vulnerable, in the end, to Cyan Bloodbane, Sorrow's Thorn, Ke'Lorath, and all of our other sundry problems in Silvenesti. However, I have found nothing in the realms beyond to help me in this regard.

We assembled in Kyrnesti after several weeks apart pursuing our own agendas. Oskerr had apparently stayed in the forests of Kyrnesti for quite some time, mumbling about "familiar feelings," while pursuing the White Stag and the Forestmaster into the unknown heart of the land blessed by Branchala for the elves. From what I understand, he and Gwynnion set out together, upon what one might think of as a "ceremonial" hunt, although once he found the Forestmaster he did nothing other than, as they say in Palanthus's seedier districts, "hang out."

To Kai'Alhana tr'Caladon Silvanos, Speaker of the Stars, Resplendent Dawn of Silvenesti, concerning the Knights of Solamnia, the Dragon Isles, and the return of the Dragons of Light to the shores of Ansalon since their absence in the Time of Gwynneth and Huma,

Oskerr and Alexis were rather startled when they arrived in Palanthus again and saw the dragons Gwynnion and I had rescued from Sable and company's clutches. Samkin was still in the process of celebrating his reunion with his wife, while his plane-touched daughter was in the care of the priests of Paladine at the temple in Palanthus under Crysania, the Revered Daughter of Paladine.

Several events have transpired since I last set my pen to this journal. After our excursion into the plane of ash in search of Samkin's wife and daughter, Gwynnion hesitantly approached me in the hopes of having a companion to journey to what was once one of Galen Dracos's laboratories and compounds. I say hesitantly because, at first, she had planned on going alone.

I would entitle this entry "rumination," but in consulting with my Elven to Common dictionary, it tells me that "rumination" also means "the act or process of chewing cud." And I am certainly not going to do that...

I was in Kai'Alhana's court when news of Lord Kaith's death at the age of 107 arrived via messenger from Solamnia. The aged High Clerist, granduncle to Samkin and Alexis, had died of natural causes, and his funeral was planned for the winter at the High Clerist Tower. I was invited to attend the funeral, as was Kai'Alhana and other members of her court.
